DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN RECOGNITION PROGRAM: The Town's Board of Commissioners, in their regular meeting in December, 2006, approved a program aimed at recognizing citizens who distinguish themselves through voluntary service and/or contributions to the community.

Mrs. Constance Corbett and Mr. Dale Bachmann were chosen as the first recipients of the award in January 2007.

Billy Lewis and Mayor Lewis

Mr Billy Lewis, a WW11 veteran and US Navy Retiree, received the award in July, 2007. Mr. Lewis was recognized for his faithful dedication and personal committment in honoring the areas deceased veterans.
